Maggie Lucas (she/her) is a jack-of-all-trades dancer who has trained in styles including modern, jazz, house, and ballet. She studied salsa and bachata after joining her college Latin Dance team on a whim. On that team she taught intro classes for the community and fell in love with social dancing!
Coming from a choreography-based background, she found social dance to be incredibly freeing and creative, and to also require courage, vulnerability, and trust. That is why she was delighted to find such a loving queer dance community in Queerchata. Maggie has been devoted to the performance team for the past two years, and is thrilled to be teaching Bachata this fall.
Maggie believes in dance as a uniquely powerful tool for self-discovery and hopes to create a space for her students to explore their own relationships with movement and be unapologetically themselves!
